The training diaries of a formerly overweight, office worker who decided to turn himself into a hardcore endurance athlete and take on the toughest footrace in the world, the Marathon des Sables in Morocco. With this completed in April 2012, his fitness journey continues, most recently with a 26.4km marathon lake swim
A big thank you to everyone who completed my short survey and provided feedback. Based on your answers, I have arranged to try out and review the following activities in the coming weeks:
1) Crossfit with Jeff Grant of Hillseeker Fitness 2) Chi running half day workshop 3) Canyoning in Chli Schliere (postponed from 1st July due to bad weather)
I will also be reviewing the running gear that I use, and a few fitness books that I have lying on my bookshelf (currently unread). I have books on sports nutrition, the biomechanics of running, training schedules and last but not least mental training for athletes.
